The project is currently the largest green hydrogen coupled coal chemical project in the world, which uses the rich solar and wind energy resources in Ordos region to generate green hydrogen directly, with an annual production of 30,000 tons of green hydrogen and 240000 tons of green oxygen. and recently used in Zhongtian Hechuang Ordos coal deep processing demonstration project carbon reduction and carbon reduction.
This project is another green hydrogen demonstration project built by Sinopec since the construction of Xinjiang Kuqa Green hydrogen demonstration Project was launched in 2021.
The project, implemented by Sinopec Xinxing Company, mainly includes five parts: wind energy and photovoltaic power generation, power transmission and transformation, hydrogen production from electrolytic water, hydrogen storage and hydrogen transmission, in which the installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power generation are 450MW and 270MW respectively. The hydrogen production capacity of electrolytic water is 30,000 tons per year, and the hydrogen storage capacity is 288000 standard cubic meters.
The total investment of the project is about 5.7 billion yuan. After it is put into production, it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.43 million tons per year, contribute nearly 600 million yuan to GDP and increase tax revenue by nearly 30 million yuan.
According to reports, the project further explores the scene application of green hydrogen in the field of coal chemical industry.
The green hydrogen and green oxygen produced by the project will be transported from the pipeline to Zhongtian Hechuang Ordos Coal Deep processing demonstration Project to replace part of coal to produce hydrogen, effectively promote the integrated development of traditional synthetic materials chemical industry and hydrogen energy industry, help clean and efficient utilization of coal, expand sources of chemical raw materials, and form a new industrial model and development path for the utilization of hydrogen energy and renewable energy.
The project is also Sinopec's first green hydrogen production-utilization project that integrates wind energy and photovoltaic power generation, which has solved many technical problems of hydrogen production under the condition of renewable fluctuating power supply.
The project team adopts advanced wind power generation and electrolytic water hydrogen production technology, relying on green electricity hydrogen production configuration optimization software independently developed by Sinopec Engineering and Construction Corporation, etc., to form a complete set of green hydrogen production technology, solve the contradiction between the fluctuation of hydrogen production from new energy such as wind power and photovoltaic power generation and the hydrogen demand stability of downstream chemical enterprises, and achieve the lowest overall cost of hydrogen production.
They have also developed the configuration optimization and process control technology of electrolytic hydrogen production system adapted to complex working conditions, so that the wind power generation power and the load of hydrogen production equipment can be balanced synchronously, so as to ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment and improve the efficiency of the system. it is of great significance to promote the stable absorption of wind and solar power in provinces with advantageous scenery resources.
In addition, the project takes new technologies such as hydrogen production as a breakthrough to help the autonomous region explore new models to improve the comprehensive utilization efficiency of regional energy.
Sinopec gives full play to its advantages and makes full use of the rich wind and solar energy resources in Inner Mongolia to enhance regional energy efficiency and low-carbon energy. it has played a positive role in promoting the adjustment of energy structure and energy transformation and development in Inner Mongolia, and building a large clean energy base in northwest China in the future, and effectively demonstrated the social responsibility of central enterprises.
