
Sinopec announced on April 10 that the demonstration project of the hydrogen transmission pipeline from west to east has been incorporated into the "construction implementation plan" of the national oil and gas network, and the long-distance hydrogen transmission pipeline in China has entered a new stage of development.
The "hydrogen transmission from west to east" starts in Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, and ends in Yanshan Petrochemical in Beijing. The pipeline is more than 400 kilometers long. It is the first trans-provincial, large-scale, long-distance pure hydrogen transportation pipeline in China.
The first phase of the pipeline has a capacity of 100000 tons per year, with a long-term lifting potential of 500000 tons per year.
At the same time, ports will be reserved in many places along the line to facilitate access to potential hydrogen sources.
Green hydrogen refers to the hydrogen produced by wind energy, light energy and other renewable energy, which is regarded as one of the most potential clean energy.
Inner Mongolia is rich in scenic resources, and the development of green hydrogen has a unique advantage. however, how to transport green hydrogen from Inner Mongolia and even western China to the areas with strong market demand in the east has always been a bottleneck restricting the development of green hydrogen industry.
At present, long-tube trailers are still the mainstream mode of long-distance hydrogen transportation in China, but this method has high cost and low efficiency, which is also one of the main reasons for the high cost of terminal hydrogen, which greatly restricts the development of the industrial chain.
Hydrogen pipeline can realize large-scale, long-distance transportation of hydrogen, and take into account the economy.
Sinopec has laid out the Ordos landscape fusion green hydrogen demonstration project in Inner Mongolia, and plans to build a large-scale green hydrogen production project in Wulanchabu City. Through the establishment of an integrated hydrogen industry development model of wind power generation-green electricity hydrogen production-hydrogen pipeline transportation-refining and transportation hydrogen, the demonstration layout of the whole industry chain of hydrogen energy industry system, storage, transportation and utilization can be realized.
In addition, Sinopec has mature experience in hydrogen pipeline operation.
At present, the total mileage of hydrogen pipelines worldwide has exceeded 5000km, among which the United States has built hydrogen pipelines beyond 2500km, while China's hydrogen pipeline construction is still in its infancy.
Sinopec has built Jinling-Yangtze hydrogen pipeline, Baling-Changling hydrogen pipeline, Jiyuan-Luoyang hydrogen pipeline, the longest operation time is about 16 years.
It is reported that the demonstration project of the "West-to-East hydrogen Transmission" hydrogen pipeline has made positive progress in routing site selection, technical research, and project construction plans, has basically completed the preparation of the feasibility study report, and is speeding up the work of the project.
