PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical's 1.2 million tons/year ethylene project construction has made significant progress

At 9:57 on January 18, the No. 2 propylene tower of the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene unit of the PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company's refining and chemical transformation and upgrading project was successfully hoisted into place, and the "tower light came on", marking the large over-the-limit tower of the unit. All hoisting is completed, and the equipment installation and process piping stage have been fully transferred.

There are 17 oversized towers in the newly built 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant, of which 5 large oversized towers need to be hoisted using a 4,000-ton main crane and a 1,250-ton sliding tail crane. The No. 2 propylene tower hoisted this time is the last of the five large oversize towers. It is also the equipment with the highest tower height and the most difficult hoisting in the device. It is a veritable "Tower King". The tower adopts the construction concept of segmented manufacturing, segmented transportation, and overall hoisting. The tower is 111.25 meters long and has a total hoisting weight of 2030.8 tons. It is one of the propylene towers with the heaviest integrated hoisting weight, the largest volume, and the highest height among vertical equipment in China. one.

Since the first hoisting of the ethylene tower of the newly built 1.2 million tons/year ethylene unit was completed on December 12, 2023, and today the "Tower King" has been successfully hoisted into place, five 1,000-ton towers have been successfully "dressed and equipped" and integrated. Hoisting has created an industry record of "5 hoistings in 37 days" in extremely cold weather.

The newly built 1.2 million tons/year ethylene unit is a key core unit among the 28 newly built and renovated (expanded) units in the refining and chemical industry transformation and upgrading of Jilin Petrochemical Company of China. It adopts the CBL cracking technology and LECT separation technology independently developed by Sinopec Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. , with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons of polymer-grade ethylene and 587,000 tons of polymer-grade propylene. After the unit is put into operation, the total ethylene production capacity of Jilin Petrochemical will reach 1.9 million tons/year, and the ethylene production capacity and chemical scale will reach the domestic advanced level.
